Try Before Buy

The changes applied on product page are:

1. Add a product card to showcase the try before buy items.
2. Fold the description text to keep the interface clean and organized.

The landing page for try before buy is redesigned from the regular product page. The changes applied are:

1. Remove the quantity box to set the purchase limitation of the “Try before buy” product to one product for each consumer.
2. Change the CTA button text to “Try before buy”.Give clear instructions on how “try before buy” works.
3. Fold the description text to keep the interface clean and organized.

The brand uses the Shopify default checkout page. We made some customization based on the basic checkout page:

1. Add an announcement box on top. Emphasize “free return” to eliminate the consumers’ concern.
2. Add a “How does it work” section to explain the process. Since it’s a new purchase way, so it’s worth repeating the rule of the purchase way.

We only charge users shipping & handling when they place the orders and the full price will be charged at the end of the trial.

But for the mobile version, the order summary is automatically folded and the number showing is the full price of the product, which will stop user finishing placing the order.

It took us a lot of time and effort to find the right third-party app and communicating with shopify. We finally make it showing the number of the money that needs to be paid when user place the order.

We limit each customer to purchase one try before buy item at most, so the try before buy product card in shopping cart need to be different from regular product:

1. Remove quantity box.
2. Move “Remove” icon underneath the product title and change it to text. This is for visual consideration.

Try before buy items are not able to be process with regular items, so when the customers already have regular items in their shopping cart, there will be a popup showing. Customers can choose either to only keep the trial products or purchase all the products.
